I fully agree with that. I was diagnosed with AML (inv16) in march of 2007, and being the nerd I am, I made sure the doctors told me everything and in isolation, all I did was research.

The best way to combat fear is with knowledge. I in no way dispute that these are great to add to conventional treatments, and for treating side effects associated with cancer and the therapy. The only thing I debate, is the advocacy that this is a cure, or can replace conventional therapy.

Given the fear of cancer and treatments for cancer, it is not surprising that nonscientific cures flourish and many people, unfortunately, fall prey to them.

  3. devilman666 on February 2nd, 2010 10:24 pm

it is not science that drives these sorts of therapies, although they are often dressed up in science-y sounding terminology in order to obscure what to an oncologist or cancer investigator would obviously be the extreme biological or even physical implausibility of the remedy.

  4. devilman666 on February 2nd, 2010 10:25 pm

These treatments do not rely on randomized clinical trials or basic science to support their efficacy, either. Rather, they rely on testimonials, one of the most visible and highly abused methods of selling dubious therapies.

You people do not possess sufficient scientific knowledge and or critical thinking skills to separate truth from nonsense in medicine.

Cancer isnt something you can just throw anything at and hope it works. The methods mentioned by mission have viable data proving that they do in fact work. More so then this miracle remedies.

I do not disagree that certain holistic alternatives are good to a point, but they should not be looked upon to replace that which has been tried, tested ,and proved time and time again.

I did that once in British Columbia, caught something we Canadians “call beaver fever”

But I rubbed hemp oil on, and drank some sodium bicarbonate. CURED!

@missi0nhill Giardiasis? I was recently told I had diverticulitis. I just drank some beer and it went away;.)

  12. devilman666 on February 2nd, 2010 10:40 pm

@missi0nhill J/k about the beer thing, but serious about the aforementioned illness. Im actually just doing a high fiber diet, something us Americans don’t know about obivously:)

  13. missi0nhill on February 2nd, 2010 10:44 pm

haha.. I think the cure for that is a colon cleansing.
Oh, and don’t forget to eat your Wheaties!

Beer can have a similar effect as fiber intake, if consumed in large doses.
Correlation implies causation right? Or was it the other way around. Hmmm.

I wonder why/how all these other m.d’s then, who do their reseach, and come up with their findings which supports fighting/killing cancer through other means not using chemo.
Are their findings not valid? Just because they don’t follow something the Big Pharma has to offer??
Dr. Matthias Rath, Mr. Ralph Moss, Dr. Hamer , Dr. Burzinski, just to name a few- all have different opinions on chemo.

“Breast and Prostate Cancer cells are also sensitive to Cannabinoid-induced antiproliferation (restrict). Regarding the immune system, low doses of Cannabinoids may enhance cell proliferation (spread), whereas high doses of Cannabinoids (Rick Simpson’s Cancer Cure Hemp Oil) usually induce growth arrest or apoptosis (cell death).”

Canadian NDP leader Jack Layton has Prostate Cancer. Visit Spain or ask Rick Simpson for the cure?

“We have previously shown that Cannabinoids induce growth inhibition (restrict) and apoptosis (cell death) in prostate Cancer PC-3 cells”

I have found hemp oil in a health food store, but it’s made from the seeds and has noTHC. I can’t make this oil. Does this mean I need to give up and prepare to die? Also, I’m very lonely and need to find friends to share laughter. To enjoy what time I have left. Can anyone else out there use a friend?
